   *  "X" Junction is re-enforced to be durable and long lasting - many are not.  Ours are braced top and bottom.  Junctions that are not will eventually crack.
Text Box: Important Torque Tech Feature!
Our X Systems continue off the header at the same size as the collector of the header. This way the system is able to scavenge to is full effect off the header. This means Horsepower. Most systems on the market reduce off the header, then go to the X-Junction. This is ok, and do-able, but it costs you horsepower!
   *  High grade aluminized tube like our Aluminized pipes - Not made of thinner gauge material.
   *  "X" Junction is designed with unique angles to enhance flow through -
                                               Will outflow typical "X" pipes on the market
   *  Overall design allows to fewer 'fitment' problems due to header alignment problems
   *  Equalize pulses for less backpressure and turbulence
   *  Help quiet system
   *  Reduces horsepower loss - usually more efficient that "H" pipe
   *  Enhances torque
   *  For V8 Dual Exhaust - both header and manifold applications

Consists of Torque Tech "X" Junction along with front pipes to Headers (or Downpipes) and rear pipes back to mufflers.

The “X” Crossover concept is the latest in exhaust technology.  Our  “X” Crossover setup will always be as good or better than the traditional H-pipe.   In some street situations, you will not be able to tell the difference by the seat of the pants.  We make the above statement not to "belittle" the benefits of the "X" Pipe Crossover technology, but to inform you that in a lot of street situations, you just won't feel any difference.  With this in mind you might find spending the extra money worthwhile.   It has a unique sound that many really like.  Please note, this setup requires welding and is more difficult to install than the traditional Balance Tube or Crossover Tube

As with all our systems and products, we take much pride in designing to allow for the greatest flexibility during installation.  We have anticipated all the typical problems associated with header alignment and designed the fore and aft pipes with the appropriate angles and lengths to increase the probability of ease of installation without sacrificing performance and flow.

An "X" Pipe design is a lot more than just welding two 90 Degree Elbows together - by the way, we are not using two 90 Degree Elbows.  We are utilizing different in and out angles.  This aids in both flow and design flexibility which is important to you.   Many "X" pipes on the market are nothing more than two 90 Degree Elbows.  No research was put into their product.  They just wanted to have an "X" available to sell to make money.  We, of course, want to make money too, but our primary interest is in REAL Performance products.  By-the-way, elbows just welded together without the re-enforcing will work for a little while, then start cracking and leaking.

Undoubtedly you have heard claims of 30 to 50 horsepower gains by some. Such large gains are not typical, but can be achieved under certain circumstances.  Typically, gains will be less.  So be cautious of sites making wild claims.  All “X” Pipes are NOT the same.  Some are nothing more than just two 45 degree elbows cut and welded together with no thought given to flow, fit nor longevity.

To decide if you want to use the “X” Crossover setup, we recommend you first consider that welding is involved.  If you can handle that or have someone who can, and this is the way you want to go, then go for it and you will have the latest in exhaust technology on your musclecar.   We would like to offer this bit of advice.  Going with the “X” Crossover setup will never hurt performance versus the more traditional Balance Tube Setup.  We don’t think there is much of any way to lose here.

The Torque Tech “X” Crossover will give you the latest in exhaust technology for your disposal for street/strip performance.

Ordering Info:

To order a complete system with the Torque Tech “X” Crossover, go to one of the following:

Torque Tech "X" Pipe Kit           (For GM & Ford Vehicles & Other Various Applications)

NOTES:

  The “X” Crossover Kit contains only the pieces from the Headers or Downpipes back to the Mufflers.  It also includes a pair of collector flanges, gaskets and nuts, bolts & gaskets and U-Bolt clamps.  If you do not want to weld the assembly together (welding is recommended), then the clamps can be used - you may find them handy to use during trial fitting also.

For a really clean look without welding (If you just don't have any way to weld) is to use Band Clamps, and order a set of our Performance Collector reducers to come off the header, then use pipe connectors (PIPC3030 for 3" tubing or PIPC2525 for 2.5" tubing), then the "X" Crossover Kit (this method will involve using 8-10 clamps depending on if clamps are used on the front of the mufflers).  This will involve some extra expense, but might be as cheap if you had to pay someone to do the welding.  Your Call!

  This includes the “X” Junction, the Aft Pipes going back to the muffler, the Forward Pipes going forward  to the Headers or Downpipes, Collector Flanges and Gaskets.  The flanges will need to be welded to the front of the fore pipe during installation.  This is necessary to aid in installation with headers that are not straight back.

    The “X” Junction Box    This would be only the “X” Crossover part or "Junction" itself.
