1964-72 Buick Skylark/GS, Olds Cutlass/442, Pontiac Lemans/GTO, Pontiac Grand Prix, Chevelle/SS, Malibu/SS, El Camino/SS & Monte Carlo/SS
1973-77
Buick Century/Regal, Olds Cutlass, Pontiac Grand Prix, El Camino and equivalent vehicles.NOTE: Many Systems sold by competitors do not have hangers, etc. Some don't even have Collector Reducers and NONE have Performance Collector Reducers like ours. This is extremely important at the very beginning of the system. We include everything you need. We also stand behind our product with a Guarantee to fit (unless header alignment is a problem).

All Systems utilizing the H-Pipe or Balance Tube come with Torque Tech Collector Reducers, Headpipes, Kit A Balance Balance Tube and Tailpipes along with all Mounting Hardware.
* Nuts, Bolts, Washers are Stainless and Clamps are Zinc Coated.3.5" Systems come with 3½"x3½" No-Weld Collector Reducers. * Nuts, Bolts, Washers, are Stainless and all Clamps are either Zinc Coated or Aluminized.
All Systems utilizing the X-Pipe include the X-Junction along with all necessary pieces between the headers and mufflers, and Tailpipes along with all Mounting Hardware. * Nuts, Bolts, Washers are Stainless and Clamps are Zinc Coated.
All A-Body systems have the same profile from collector reducer to tailpipe. Headpipes angle over to the tunnel area for maximum ground clearance and tailpipes are designed with a minimum of bends and attention paid to movement and location of suspension for greatest possible clearance.
The tailpipes do not interfere with wide tire installation, or with most popular style aftermarket traction devices. (See photos for pipe routing and location). Headpipes and Collector Reducers are made longer than necessary with the total combined length at 55".
Our A-Body tailpipes are
available in either the turn down or straight version. Both versions exit under
the rear bumper. We do not; at this time have any versions that exit under the
rear quarter panels or directly behind the rear wheels.
The Straight version is mainly for vehicles such as the Olds Cutlass with the 442 bumper, the Buick GS with the N-25 bumper or any other vehicle with either "cut-outs" in the bumper or valence panel under the bumper. They are intended to be used with Tips as they are short of actually reaching all the way under the bumper. They may also be used for other situations, but be sure the bumper is short in height and IF there is a valence under it, that it has cutout areas for the pipe or extensions.
NOTE: Since the tail end of the 1964-67 and 1973-77 vehicles is longer, (except '66-67 Chevelle), the tailpipes may fall some 3-6" short of reaching the bumper. This is acceptable if you purchase the Turn Down style tailpipes as this directs the exhaust down away from the rear of the bumper. Or, you can purchase the system listed that will include a two-piece tailpipe that will reach to the bumper. Tailpipe length (as the crow flies) is 50½" for the '68-72 tailpipes.
HEADER TOO SHORT? - Shorty Header or Block Hugger! The kits listed on this page are for "Long Tube" type headers. If your headers are short, the you will need one of our Straight Extension Kits (probably 22" or 14" - EXT25014XK or EXT25022XK for 2½" off the Collector Reducer, OR EXT30014XK or EXT30022XK for 3" off the Collector Reducer). If your headers exit more in the location of manifolds, then you will need one of our "Make a Downpipe Kits". With either of these situations, order the appropriate Extension or Make a Downpipe Kit along with the system listed here. If you will be needing a Make a Downpipe Kit, then we will delete the Collector Reducers from the kit to save some money.

Best place is as close to the headers as possible. It is also recommended to move the mufflers closer inward to enable some "tucking up" into the drive shaft tunnel area.)
