Make-a-DownPipe Kits

Need a DownPipe? This unique way allows you to easily make (if you can trim tubing to length and do simple welding) a downpipe for your application using Mandrel Bent Pieces. Will work on most GM, Ford & Mopar. Just make sure there is nothing in the way coming off your manifolds.

We have these kits classified as to Kit 1 & Kit 2

Kit 1 ---- has elbows, straight extensions, clamps & Manifold Hookups

for use with Manifolds.

Kit 2 ---- has elbows, straight extensions, clamps & Header Collector

Flanges to mount to shorty-type headers (Block Hugger - Headers that exit before get'n under the vehicle.).

* Be sure to note manifold opening sizes so we get the correct size

Manifold Hookups in your kit. Also, note 2 or 3-Bolt Flanges needed.

Within Kit 1 you will have different options to select depending on your needs; such 45 or 90 degree elbows, etc.

These kits will fit with any of our Exhaust Kits.

Kit 2 -- generally used with Block Hugger type Headers with 3-Bolt Collector Flanges (Headers which end BEFORE get'n down under the floorboard.

Be sure to note Header opening sizes so we get the correct size Flange in the kit.

Occasionally a Block Hugger will have something other than the typical 3-bolt flange.

Within Kit 2 you will have different options to select depending on your needs; such 45 or 90 degree elbows, etc.

Trim height of each elbow for ground clearnace.

Manifold Hookups - Typical 2.5" above. Available in 2.25" also.

Kit 2 -- Choice of Elbows - 2-45's, 2-90's, or 1 of each, Header Coll. Flanges

Kit 3 kits have no provision for mounting to header or manifold. Available in 2.5" or 3" tubing. Use with Ball & Socket Setup.

Manifold Hookups

These are available to bolt up to 2.5" or 2.25" Manifolds. Generally the 2.25" Hookups will work with Manifold openings as small as 2" and 2.5" will likewise work with 2.25" openings, although you might have to "work with' them a little. In some cases they can be used with a smaller bolt pattern if you elongate inward the holes on the flange and 'notch' the flared part a little where the bolt is. The 2.5" Hookups are 3" long with a 1.5" to 1.75" expanded end for slipping a 45 deg or 90 deg elbow into. The 2.25" Hookups are 3" long with the bottom end not being expanded. We highly recommend welding the elbow to the Hookup to prevent exhaust leaks. Available with either a 2-Bolt Flange or 3-Bolt Flange.
